L’Anse Township has announced a meeting of the Planning Commission on Thursday, September 27 at 6:00 pm at the Township Hall (126 N. Main, L’Anse) to hold a public hearing on proposed changes to the zoning ordinance regarding wind energy. We anticipate the proposal would allow turbines on ALL of Commercial Forest land, shown here in dark green. It isn’t just a matter of this company getting a special use permit now but to change the zoning for all CF land.
Please be heard! Written comments must be mailed to 126 N. Main St., P.O. Box 82, L’Anse, MI 49946 or hand delivered to the Planning Commission and must be received prior to the start of the hearing.
