This is NOT about ONE project (Summit Lake). If they change the zoning to allow 500+ ft wind turbines in the forestry district, they will be allowed to be constructed with a special use permit in ANY of the area shaded dark green on this map (they already are allowed in the lightest green)!
History of these projects tells us that once they get their foot in the door, they will propose more and more new projects in the area. They will NOT stop at 49! Don’t live in L’Anse Township? Townships around us such as Arvon don’t have current zoning to protect you from this taking over your township either.
