40 to 50 Industrial Turbines 500 feet tall are proposed to be sited along the ridges of the Huron Mountains in Upper Michigan. The Original FAA application in 2016 included 120 turbine sites, along with another 12 FAA Applications submitted in 2017.
The ridgelines include Mount Arvon the highest point in the State of Michigan, and nearing Mount Curwood the second highest point. Multiple river headwaters are located in the this boreal and highland environment. The low areas and ravines are full of rivers, streams and wetlands.
There are no roads or infrastructure currently in this wilderness location. Massive destruction and habitat loss will take place, along with adding additional culverts, bridges and damage to the watershed and wetlands.
